It seems like some of the people say that v8 is a gas guzzler and some say that they’re actually about the same.
As for the actual price of the car, I don’t care. I have found some better deals on the v8.
Any input will help. It would be nice if someone had the real… EPA estimated MPGs for both of them too.
ULYSSES
although the v8 has more power and more cylinders, the gas mileage is pretty close to a v6. The reason being the v6 has to work much harder to get the car up and moving. the v8 needs less effort and requires less throttle to get up and moving or maintain speed.
On the hwy they are real close, but intown the v8’s power is to tempting and you pay for it at the pump..
it all really depends on what kinda of mustange it is and the driver and if the driver is hard on the car or treats it like there baby. . wheather it is a convertible or hard top. i have a v6 convertible and im a 16 year old who drives like a 28 year old. and my gas mileage is worse then my friends hard top v6 and she is 16 but a very slow driver yet better then my dads v8 hardtop and he likes to test his cars limits.
I had an ‘04 GT 5 speed, SCT, under-drive pulleys, CAI that would turn 20mpg in town and 23-26mpg on the freeway. I don’t know the V-6 numbers, but I would not call that a gas guzzler at all!
On a side note, my 1996 Crown Vic Interceptor got the same numbers with a 100K mile 4.6L.
I have a V6 mustang, I get about 325-340 miles per tank of gas. I do mostly highway driving.
Come on how many people really buy a Mustang for the gas mileage? You buy one for the history, at least I did.
