o.kaufman asked:

I am looking to restore a 1965 Mustang Convertible with the original red color. The paint right now has a few chips here and there, and one or two scratches. All are minor.

What do you think it would cost to have it done “well”. (I use this term loosely)

call three paint shops or drive by them would get you a better ideal since prices will vary across town much less states just look in phon ebook all three place most likely they would want to see it to know what needs to be done but a cheap paint job starts like 500 bucks a great paint job might be thousands

2K AVERAGE. UNLESS YOU DO ALL THE PREP. THEN 500 BUCKS TO JUST PAINT.

DEPENDS ON YOUR AREA

if the car just needs sanded down and no rust repair your still looking at close to $3,000 to get a real nice basecoat clearcoat paint job.

o.kaufman, I bought a used Mustang in Georgia last week and saved a lot. I haven’t had any problems yet. I’ll never buy a new car.
