I can see that you are from Europe, and it’s understood that you **** us for having to free you when you could not free yourselves. But to try to take away the ability of the Mustang just makes you look very sad. And resentful.
Most of the Luftwaffe great aces got their kills on the Russian front. They stayed in combat from day one of the war till the end of the war. American pilots were pulled out after a certain amount of missions. There was never a chance for them to score at the rate of the Luftwaffe. And the ME-109 was meat on the table for Mustangs. You don’t have to like it. It’s just the way it was.
Being an american show, the p51 is shown as the daddy of all planes, when in reality, the Luftwaffe held the aces, aces with 2 digit kills or 3 digit kills. Notice how the 109 is shown as a “stupid,small,easy to kill plane” , how 80% of the 109’s here just sit?
well the fact that it stalls could have been exploited by good pilots
Yes p-51 is fast and its 6 50.cals are very powerfull, but it stalls very easy. For examle, Bf 109 which in real live was worse then p-51, is in IL-2 one of the Best Planes, even better than Spitfire. Sorry for my english I am from Czech republic
what are you talking about..the p-51 in IL2 is great.
And it may use same graphics as a game but its more of a simulator then a game.

you may have a bad experience in IL-2 game, but it is GAME. in real P-51 D was very good plane
Haha. Now I am wondering if maching guns are really that weak in real life. Anyway after thinking for some time i thought maybe the P-51 is less maneuverable now because of a patch or something.
If in Real life i had the 30K rds I used on that B29 i woulda run outta places in that B29 to put bullets haha
oh hell yes, the Machine guns in Il2 dont do **** to anything…….and its the P51 D5 that is the best imo. The Cannons in that game are what kills, the mgs on the 109 arnet what are killing….proof here that MG’s dont do anything is the Hurricane MKIIB….12 .303’s and it no joke takes 30K rds to shoot down a B29….if I knew how to post saved vids from Il2 id post it and show ya hahah. I was hitting the B29 from the back stright at it but still……it took to many rds.
Next time I’ll try flying the P-51 at 75%. i don’t know if its just me but why does the single 20mm cannon and 2 13mm machine gun on BF 109G-6 seems to to more powerful than the whole battery of 6 .50cal on the P-51
In Il2 the P51 works the best at like 75%….but for some odd reason I seem to no longer be able to turn half as well as i could b4….maybe my joystick is fubar slightly. but in IL2 the BF109 is by far one of the best planes in that game.
I thought the Bf 109 is more maneuverable and faster at low altitude unlike what the video say. I also have bad experiences with P-51 in the game IL-2.
