Garage419 asked:

Matt Farah gives you his review of Shelby’s new Terlingua Mustang. Shelby took the muscle out of the Mustang but thanks to a few special mods made an all out sports car. Yes, tires will be burned.

but how much does Roush or the saleen cost? this car is bang for the buck…or at least thats what i understand

youre exactly right, you could easily hit over 400 hp and improve handling on a v6 for far less than an extra 18k. and i personally **** the way they did the hood, so you can make it look a lot better than this car. but like currahee03 said, having a shelby badge on your car is something to brag about.

RUDOLF

why are so many people putting one mustang vs another. who cares if one mustang is made to handle, while others are for straight line speed. i think its a good idea, because it takes away the comeback that all those ricers come up with “at least my car can turn”
now we have multiple mustangs that will take them in straight lines, as well as some mustangs that will out handle them, including the roushes and saleens with irs and v8s.
and btw, the handling of a mustang gt is really underrated.

So has everyone forgotten about the Roush 427R track pack, or the Saleen S281 Extreem? No V6 Mustang is gonna keep up with those. And if your worried about wait ratio the Roush and Saleen Extreem have independent rear suspintion…

your right. the only thing that would draw people to this particular option, though, is that Shelby badge. Its all about bragging rights, exclusivity and the history behind the badge.

I’m not a big expert of cars but I think for that much money you could take your car to a good garage and add +400hp (maybe with a turbo charger), I’m sure it would be a lot cheaper plus you can get a good body kit like Cervini’s plus many other things I bet you’d save even money and have better performance and handling. Somebody corrects me if I’m saying something stupid…

Handling, just thing handling, better handling through weight -or lack thereof- distribution.

Hotdog6962 on 4 October, 2009 at 8:43 pm #

STEWART

dont do that… you’re totally right with what you said. nothing fusion said will improve weight Distribution. the point of the v6 is to lighten the nose. the gt still has that heavy *** engine up front.

the oly reason why its called a muscle car is because chuck norris drove them

jsizzle2k6 american cars never have power haha thats funny they do make power lots of power yes american v6 **** on power but v8 make up for it you got to mod your v6 alot just to make 500hp with a cobra engine you can make up to 1000hp with out major mods you dont need to replace the bottom ends and about fuel economy a full modded evo does not give you great fuel economy its also a gas gussler

Now take that 750hp stang to an actually track, not a 1/4, not a stop light run, not a top speed run, but an ACTUAL race track. We’ll see who’s laughing when that 6 leaves that 750hp pig at the start line. The mustangs when they were conceived were never about big power, they’re pony cars, sports cars etc, you didn’t see a mustang at a drag strip all too often, you seen em on the circuit racing camero’s and challengers. What shelby has done with that car is a great idea.

The mustang for most guys is what it is. Could u imagine shooting the breeze with the boyz on a saturday night about your terlingua v6 with a big yellow bunny rabbit on it that pumps out a whole 375 hp in this day and age while buddy with his 750hp gt is trying not to laugh standing beside you. Taking the so called muscle out of the mustang and trying to make it a sports car out of it doesnt work for me. Doing that u are taking the cool factor out of the car period.

lmao.. yeah i know hyundai *****. i would never own one. im sayin a freakin pos hyundai makes more hp then a ford. a v6 boosted that only makes that much power is a joke. thats all im sayin.

hyundai sucks, it will never be what ford has become. did every one forget. ford invented the automobile.

RAYFORD

Well I dunno, I’ve never driven one of the newer GT’s so I dont really know how it handles, but I guess I’ll take your word for it.

fusionvic on 17 October, 2009 at 1:54 am #

WILL

The GT’s weight distribution isn’t bad to begin with. Just go with a 11 psi whipple kit and suspension/chassis mods on the GT. 500+ hp and better handling.

Rivelution on 18 October, 2009 at 1:40 am #

TRUMAN

Adding suspension mods will not fix the problem. Will it give the GT better handling? Yes it will, but will it fix the weight distribution? No. Which is the WHOLE point of this video, weight distribution, better handling, and braking. Essentially a track car.

fusionvic on 18 October, 2009 at 11:13 am #

TRENT

Just add the same suspension mods to the GT. It’s not rocket science.

first time this guy uses a clutch… funny to see his face when he downshift for 1 sec then passes the 4th and still try to make the tires spin… idiot

STEPHEN

a super charged v6 making 375 hp? thats kind of a joke for a forced induction car in the millienium the new hyundai genesis makes the same hp and hyundai ***** !! but then again american cars never have power haha. but i guess for a track car its good. i would just like to see hp atleast in the 400 range
