AVweb asked:

An inside look at Cessna’s Citation Mustang. Take a quick tour of Cessna’s introductory jet with Glenn Pew. Some may refer to the Citation Mustang as a very light jet or “VLJ.”

This is very impressive for its size. The only thing is it seems like claustrophobic people won’t like the passenger cabin.

which country because cessna is a canadian company and I seriously doubt that they will be even able to make a private jet run off by solar

I like the Crustacean Mustang. My sister plays with a pink one that has Barbie on the side of it.

that would be cool to have a 747 for a private jet. it’d be hell to keep up, and fuel though. I still think one of the ultimate private planes would be a DC3. I love the way WWII era piston driven planes look, and sound. Especialy the f4u.

There is a difference, you know, about futuristic and STUPID. Do you really think solar power will ever be able to power a jet? Look up what a jet engine is, it cannot run without fuel. STFU.

You can buy some full-sized Boeing (like the charter ones) from the ’80s for under $2,5 mill. So yes, you can :) I don’t know about the state of the machinery, though :)

MAJOR

2.6 mil.? Can’t you get a much bigger private jet for that. A used one perhaps?

Sexy Jet.

i agree with you - but solar wont work for a plane until its in the air - the problem is how to get it in the air if it is using an environmentally friendly fuel.

“Old junk that didn’t work”??
The Mustang works just FINE.
I doubt anyone interested in an VLJ would really care to have a solar-powered electric prop plane!

MYRON

That’s exactly what is wrong this country! Futuristic turbines? What’s up with that garbage? If it is not electric and solar it’s NOT futuristic at all; it’s plain and simple more of the old junk that didn’t work. 747s are now beeing grounded because of fuel consumption - how futuristic is that!

It doesn’t. It’s certified for single pilot operation, but it’s always nice to have another pilot along to help lighten the workload.

FadeOp on 3 July, 2008 at 2:42 pm #

MIGUEL

Nope, this aircraft is certified for single pilot operation.

why this little plane need co-pilot?

Best choice of the twin engine very light jets! The Mustang is a clean sheet design with no “oh shit” after thoughts added on. These people know how to build a light jet, any flavor you like.
